Prenatal care begins in our clinic around 8 weeks of pregnancy. At this first prenatal visit, we spend time with each patient reviewing her history, answering questions and discussing expectations for the prenatal course. At first, follow-up visits are monthly until the third trimester at which time they become more frequent.
Our new ob class is a free 2-hour Early Pregnancy Class to start you off with even more specialized care. We encourage all of our newly expectant parents to take this class prior to their first prenatal appointment between 8-12 weeks. All of our class schedules are available online to allow patients to find one that works into their schedule.
Prenatal genetic testing can provide valuable information about the health of your baby. We offer a comprehensive group of genetic tests, and your provider will advise whether one or more tests could be beneficial for you and your baby. Testing recommendations are often based on your age, medical history, and family history.
There are two categories of prenatal tests: screening and diagnostic.
In pregnancy, conditions can arise that require extra care. We work with each of our patients to put together a prenatal care plan to meet their needs.

If you’ve had a C-section before, you may be considering what your options are for your next delivery. Many women may choose between scheduling a repeat C-section and trial of labor after cesarean (known as a TOLAC). In fact, about 60-80% of women who attempt a vaginal delivery will be successful. Planning for either type of delivery requires a careful discussion with your doctor or midwife.
