The postpartum period is a very exciting time, but it can also be very challenging and overwhelming for some moms and their families. We have many resources that can help. Remember YOU ARE NOT ALONE in this process. We are always available to answer your questions and guide you as you transition into this new role for you and your family.
The “postpartum” time period begins immediately after the delivery of your baby and lasts until your baby’s first birthday. During this time a woman’s body goes through many changes. We encourage our patients to call our clinic soon after delivery to schedule a six week postpartum visit. Sometimes patients need to be seen sooner due to complications. If you have any concerns, a phone call to our highly experienced triage nurses is welcomed. Common concerns include:
We are here to support you and your new baby with your breastfeeding goals. Bring your breastfeeding questions or concerns to you postpartum appointment. If you are struggling or have questions prior to your appointment, call our office for advice. One of our nurse practitioners, Leslie Newman is a certified lactation educator and is available for breastfeeding advice.
