Blooma: New Mama Group offers moms the opportunity to connect with each other, ask questions, share advice, laugh, cry, and talk about life with a new baby. There are occasional guest speakers to offer insight into popular parenting topics. Babies are always welcome, and groups are led to accommodate all parenting styles. Start anytime, and come as many times as you would like! Help ease the transition into life with your new baby in a supportive, open environment.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Support Minnesota: A group of mental health & perinatal practitioners, service organizations, and mother volunteers offering emotional support and treatment to Minnesota families through the perinatal years.

Postpartum Support International: The purpose of this organization is to increase awareness among public and professional communities about the emotional changes that women experience during pregnancy and postpartum.

Jenny’s Light: Our mission is to improve and save lives by increasing awareness of all perinatal mood disorders including postpartum depression.

Metta Therapy/Counseling with Jess Helle-Morrissey: Metta is a Pali word usually translated as “loving-kindness”. Others describe it as a recognition that we all want to escape suffering and find fulfillment, to be at ease, to have peace, to feel well. It is the basis for empathy, compassion, and shared joy. Jess believes that no matter what the therapeutic approach, the foundation of all good counseling is this empathy, this loving-kindness.

Psychotherapy and Healing Associates, Ltd: The therapists at PHA have both personal experience and professional training in pregnancy and postpartum issues. They understand the challenges that can result from pregnancy and parenthood, and can help you traverse them.

HCMC’s Mother Baby Program: The HCMC Mother-Baby Program offers a range of mental health services to support women and families.

Common concerns of women and families in the Mother-Baby Program:

  • Postpartum depression, anxiety or bipolar disorder
  • Depression, anxiety, or other emotional distress during pregnancy
  • Grief and sadness due to history of loss or trauma
  • Difficulty bonding or caring for baby or other children
  • Other challenges or stress related to pregnancy or parenting

Mother Baby Hope Line: 612- 873-HOPE (4673)

  • A free telephone support service for pregnant women and parents of young children.
  • Call 612-873-HOPE and a mental health staff member will talk with you, answer questions, and help you find the support you need.
  • You will be asked to leave a message. A mental health staff member will call you back within 2 business days.

La Leche League: La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone and email whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns. Calling or emailing a Leader is FREE, as are our meetings.

Amma Parenting Center: Amma is a place where new and expecting families can get the critical information and support they need in a cheerful, friendly environment. They offer a one-stop center for everything you need to welcome a new baby.

Enlightened Mama: A casual, non-judgmental forum to ask questions and get support. Group facilitators include: experienced moms, lactation educators & consultants, birth doulas, & childbirth educators. All groups offered on a donation basis. Parents and babies welcome at all sessions. Registration requested.
