So, you want to take charge of your health and wellness. Sometimes it can be challenging to start when you don’t feel like you know where to begin on the wellness journey. Here are a few good places to begin.

Schedule an annual physical exam.

Annual exams are important even if you don’t think there is anything wrong. Your healthcare provider may detect something you can’t. Annual exams are also a great time to see your healthcare provider and ask any questions you may have. Exams aren’t meant just for times where we don’t feel good. They can be a quick confirmation that we are healthy and doing the right things to take care of ourselves! Book your wellness exam today.

Discover creative ways to exercise.

If you hear the word exercise and immediately see pictures of treadmills, overcrowded weight rooms or something resembling an ab master, listen up! Exercise looks different depending on the person or the level of impact you are looking for. For lower impact workouts that still get your heart pumping try yoga, pilates, swimming or walking. If you aren’t concerned about the impact level you can try higher impact workouts like running, HIIT circuits or weightlifting.

If you don’t have the time to fit a scheduled workout into your routine, you can still get exercise! Put on some music and dance while you make dinner, take the stairs on your way to the office or choose a parking spot further from the building. Any way you can fit movement into your day is a great start. Check out some of the creative ways the Southdale ObGyn team exercises!
