The terms menopause and perimenopause have become much more common lately; we are finally talking about it more! And we need to be because women deserve to know what is happening in their own bodies. The transition to menopause is a normal experience and something that all women will go through at some point.
Perimenopause refers to the months and years leading up to menopause; many uncomfortable symptoms can occur during this time. Hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disturbances, brain fog, fatigue, irritability and mood changes, skin issues, vaginal dryness and more to name a few. Women will go through this transition at different times and in different ways; some will notice very few issues while others need to make many changes and maybe take hormones as a way to help treat their symptoms and ease them through this period. But there is a lot to know! And a lot to be discussed and learned; information is the best knowledge when it comes to menopause.
