Urinary Incontinence

The caring staff at Southdale ObGyn is knowledgeable and sensitive to the different bladder problems women experience. One diagnostic tool used is urodynamics, a study that assesses how the bladder and urethra are performing their job of storing and releasing urine.

  • What is Urodynamics Testing?

Urodynamic tests help a doctor see how well the bladder and urinary muscles work and can help explain symptoms such as:

    • incontinence (involuntary leaking of urine)
    • frequent urination
    • sudden, strong urges to urinate
    • problems starting a urine stream
    • problems emptying your bladder completely
  • What to Expect During Urodynamic Testing

    • The testing is done in a comfortable setting right in our office
    • Attention is paid to personal privacy
    • A physician is actively evaluating the test while it is being performed
    • Results are given at the time of evaluation, and patients leave the office with a plan of treatment

  • Treatment

Urinary incontinence can often be treated with a same-day surgical procedure, medications or both. This type of treatment can greatly improve a woman’s quality of life.
