Biography/Personal Interests

Born and raised in Chicago, Dr. Louie is a talented OB/GYN physician who could have practiced medicine in just about any big American city.  She got her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Northwestern University.  She attended medical school at Loyola University in Chicago, completed her residency in Baltimore, and then practiced two years in Philadelphia.  But when time came to settle down and start a family, Sheryl and her husband, Jeff, chose the Twin Cities.  After moving back to the Midwest and buying a house in Minneapolis, she and Jeff quickly embraced the Land of 10,000 Lakes and took up fly fishing.

For Dr. Louie, her claim to fame is being the kind of doctor women can't say enough good things about.  Patients describe her as "easy to talk to" and "down to earth".  She enjoys all aspects of obstetric care and has a particular interest in minimally invasive gynecologic procedures.  Although she has patients of all ages, she says a lot of them are "like me: young professional women with families.  We can talk about work and kids.  I can empathize with what they are going through."  Dr. Louie lives in Minneapolis with her husband and young son.  In addition to fly fishing, she enjoys spending her free time renovating their 1920s-era house.
